Candia's new production line is protected by a strategic combination of diverse safety solutions
By utilizing a combination of protection solutions like safety barriers, kick rails, bollards, and height restrictors, Boplan has equipped us with safety solutions to protect Candia's infrastructure and machinery.
Challenge
Candia invested in new production lines to align with its current growth. This substantial investment must be maximized for full returns. Candia sought to optimize the protection of its vulnerable machinery, minimizing downtime due to impact damage, and reached out to Boplan for safety expertise. This approach makes sense: damage to machinery results in downtime and substantial repair costs. Durable protection was also necessary for other types of company infrastructure, such as gates and walls.
"In the past, traditional steel protection devices required frequent replacement, halting our business processes for a time. Even the forklift sustained damage." Candia’s motto is: "It's better to prevent damage than to repair it," so the company turned to Boplan's expertise to enhance safety in its production hall.
Our solutions
We chose an intelligent combination of safety solutions to optimize the protection of our machinery and infrastructure. Importantly, our safety solutions meet the rigorous hygiene standards required by this food company. Specifically, these solutions are polymer, making them exceptionally easy to use and maintain:
- All openings where dirt could accumulate are meticulously excluded.
- No painting is necessary.
- They are both water- and corrosion-proof.
We have installed various types of protection devices at the Candia site to match our specific needs in terms of impacts:
TB 260 PLUS and TB 400 GRILL to prevent impacts with forklifts and protect pedestrians and machinery.
Protection bollards to protect critical locations from impacts. These devices increase visibility and help forklift operators to pay attention to their environment. If a forklift operator collides with a protection bollard, the forklift will stop without any damage and the protection bollard will return to its original condition.
GOAL POSTS or height restrictors protect gates from impacts with loaded forklifts.
Finally, the SWING GATE safety gates provide warnings to forklift operators and permanently block pedestrian access.

The Candia cooperative is a French milk producer with more than 1,500 European employees. In 1971, they were the first company to sell milk for human consumption in France. Candia was looking for suitable safety equipment for its new production line. The safety equipment had to be convincing and easy to use and maintain. This is particularly true in view of the hygiene regulations which apply in the food industry. Boplan’s safety solutions met our expectations: employees can work with peace of mind in safe spaces and our infrastructure protection is also optimal.
