Handrails
Boplan's FLEX IMPACT® handrails provide a logical and clear separation between people and vehicles. Our flexible handrails are available in three versions, from light to heavy, to meet your safety requirements. You can choose between two or three rails, depending on the situation that needs to be secured. All of our handrails are manufactured from a high-quality, high-performance polymer.
From a handrail as the perfect complement to floor marking tape to a pedestrian railing for mezzanine and elevated areas. From fencing for cost-effective machine guarding and pedestrian protection to reinforced pedestrian separation and perimeter fencing for high-risk traffic areas. Or even to protect against falling products and stacked goods. We have a handrail for every application.

Indoor and outdoor handrails
Multifunctional handrail system
The FLEX IMPACT® handrails provide a multifunctional rail system for both indoor and outdoor use. In addition to providing a clear demarcation of walkways, these handrails are often used as a fall protection system to allow safe working at height (mezzanine floors or work platforms). They are also suitable for protecting people from poorly stacked goods and/or falling products in areas without forklift traffic.
They can also be easily combined with other products in the Boplan range such as safety barriers, rack protection, and bollards.
'Glow-in-the-dark' look for guidance in the dark
Luminescent handrails
Our polymer handrails and balustrades are also available with a 'glow-in-the-dark' look. These railings have a luminescent line that absorbs light during the day. As darkness falls in the evening or during a power failure, these 'glow-in-the-dark' handrails gradually release the absorbed light for about half an hour. This is ideal for a bridging period of about 30 minutes, which is more than enough time to find the emergency exits or corridors.
FAQs
What is a safety handrail?
A safety handrail is a solution that guides pedestrians, restricts access, or shields dangerous areas to keep people safe. They can also be used to prevent falls from heights. In this way, they contribute to the safety of people and goods in the workplace. Handrails are often used in warehouses, distribution centres, factories, and industrial environments near stairs, walkways, and machinery...
What type of handrails does Boplan offer?
With the FLEX IMPACT® range, Boplan offers handrails for industrial and commercial environments. Our flexible handrails are available in three versions: from lightweight handrails (HD LIGHT) to heavy-duty handrails (HP PLUS). All of our handrails are manufactured from a high-quality, high-performance polymer that outperforms traditional materials such as steel and concrete. They are also easy to combine with our other products such as safety gates, safety barriers, and bollards.
Why should I install handrails in my workplace?
There are several reasons why handrails are necessary:
- Handrails prevent people or goods from falling from elevated platforms.
- They control access to dangerous equipment, machinery, or other heavy equipment. Certain types of handrails prevent people from reaching into machinery with their hands.
- They guide pedestrians in high-traffic areas and control access to high-risk areas.
In short, they help create a safe working environment for employees, significantly reducing the risk of accidents and injuries.
Where can I place industrial handrails in my workplace?
We install industrial handrails in areas where pedestrians are at risk or where support and stability are required. Think of platforms, walkways, mezzanines, and other raised areas. At ground level, they guide and separate traffic flows. Here are a few specific applications:
- Raised platforms: On one or both sides of raised platforms such as mezzanines or walkways. They prevent pedestrians or goods from falling off the platform.
- Walkways: Handrails delineate walkways and contribute to greater safety awareness in the workplace. Ideal for use with floor marking tape.
- Machine guarding: Handrails help prevent workers from accidentally falling into machinery or getting their limbs caught.
- Demarcation of risk areas: to restrict access.
- Outdoors in car parks: handrails are indispensable. They guide pedestrians between parked vehicles and increase alertness.
